For the first time we are bestowing the Best Band Web Site Award on a
booster organization, but when you see the web site you will understand
why. A very nicely designed site indeed.
For the first time we are bestowing the Best Band Web Site Award on a
booster organization, but when you see the web site you will understand
why. A very nicely designed site indeed.
The thing that makes this site our winner this month is the attention
to the photographs and images that are incorporated into the articles.
While there are a lot of them, they are all appropriate to the content
of the article and are not just there as eye candy. Instead they help
tell the story of the articles they are attached to. These images plus
the nicely done flash graphics in the header push the page size limit
higher than we would like to (over 200k for the entire page to
download). However, the use of linked cascading style sheets reduces
the amount of file requests sent to the server for all of these images
and thus the pages load faster than would be expected while navigating
the site.
