I saw this video at the 2008 MENC National Conference in Milwaukee.  His comments blew me away, and I highly suggest watching this video and sharing it with your administrators.  You can fast forward to the second section to get to the part that deals closely with music education or watch the whole thing for a heartfelt and humorous look at education.
